One of the few relief news for Gujarat is that four Covid Hospital is ready. 156 ventilators have been ordered. None of the patients are currently on ventilator.

Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Women Account Holders to Receive Rs 500 Per Month from Today

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The move comes after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that women Jan Dhan account holders would get Rs 500 for three months as part of the coronavirus relief package.

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is National Mission for Financial Inclusion to ensure access to financial services, namely, Banking/ Savings & Deposit Accounts, Remittance, Credit, Insurance, Pension in an affordable manner.

The Indian Banks' Association (IBA) on Wednesday asked banks to start depositing Rs 500 directly into the accounts held by women under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). The remittance under the recently announced Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had assured the women Jan Dhan account holders that Rs 500 would be deposited in their accounts for the next three months starting April 3 while announcing relief package of Rs 1.7 lakh crore. Such steps have been taken to ease the stress of the sections worst hit by lockdown imposed due to coronavirus.

The remittance under the scheme will be provided between April 3 and April 9. The IBA has said that amount will be deposited as per a schedule to ensure an orderly withdrawal of money. The money will be put into bank accounts of women as per the last digit of their Jan Dhan account numbers.

Account numbers that end with 0 or 1 will receive money on April 3, while those with 2 or 3 as last digits will get the amount on April 4. Similarly, account holders with 4 or 5 as the last digits will get the remittance on April 7. The money will be deposited in account numbers ending with 6 or 7 on April 8. Account numbers with 8 or 9 as their last digit will receive the remittance on April 9.

Beneficiaries can withdraw this money from the nearest ATMs and there is no need to rush to their bank’s branches at the time when people are advised to practice social distancing.

The scheme provide life cover of Rs. 30,000/- payable on death of the beneficiary, subject to fulfillment of the eligibility condition.

After satisfactory operation of the account for 6 months, an overdraft facility will be permitted

Access to Pension, insurance products.

The Claim under Personal Accidental Insurance under PMJDY shall be payable if the Rupay Card holder have performed minimum one successful financial or non-financial customer induced transaction at any Bank Branch, Bank Mitra, ATM, POS, E-COM etc. Channel both Intra and Inter-bank i.e. on-us (Bank Customer/rupay card holder transacting at same Bank channels) and off-us (Bank Customer/Rupay card holder transacting at other Bank Channels) within 90 days prior to date of accident including accident date will be included as eligible transactions under the Rupay Insurance Program 2019-2020.

Overdraft facility upto Rs. 10,000/- is available in only one account per household, preferably lady of the household.

Public distribution system has been implemented in the state for food security of the poor. Under which the Food and Civil Supplies Department, under the state of Gujarat, the Director, Food and Civil Supplies Office plays a leading role. Monitoring and supervision work is done by regular shops at a reasonable price on a monthly basis for coordination with several agencies for the management of the public distribution system and regular supply of grain and other commodities on a monthly basis. In addition, the demand and supply of goods are also controlled and monitored according to the Consumer Goods Act and the control order under it.

Management system

The State Level Office of the Director, Food and Civil Supplies is located at Gandhinagar to carry out the above mentioned activities. Whereas the District Supply Officer at the district level and the Mamlatdar at the taluka level perform the duties of their respective offices.

Issuance of licenses under the Ordinance issued under Essential Goods Act 1, the District Supply Officer / Mamlatdari, at the district level. For the better management of the public distribution system, certain extensions are fixed for the fair price shops in each taluka and urban area on the basis of the population determined by the state government for rural and urban areas, and the fair operators of the select shops for each fair price shop. Having received the recommendation of the Committee, the Collector of the District According to the decision of the District Advisory Committee, the District Supply Officer has to take action. Apart from this, the issue of licensing under Public Distribution Control Order is also done at the district level.

Distribution of essential commodities

The Ministry of Food and Public Distribution of the Government of India allocates grains and sugar on an annual / quarterly / monthly basis for the public distribution system. While petroleum allocates kerosene annually / quarterly by the ministry. District wise symmetry of the quantity of essential commodities available at the state level is taken at the beginning of the month, keeping in view the type of ration card holders, population numbers and standards of essential commodities available per card. On the basis of which the district supply officers allocate for the talukas (villages) and urban talukas (zones). While taluka property owners / zonal officers give permits of commodities on a monthly basis for distribution to shops, kerosene retailers / ferries at reasonable prices. The relevant fair price shoppers have to obtain the amount stated in this permit from Godowns under the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation. While the Government of India's Oil Co. By kerosene agents located in Neemle and district, the permissible amount of kerosene permits to be delivered to a reasonable price shop / kerosene retailer or doorstep delivery site.

Ration card

Generally, every family living within the state has the right to get a ration card. For this, the head of the family has to give complete details in the form prescribed by the state government in the prescribed form. As per the provisions of Citizen Charter, Taluka Mamlatdar Shri / Zonal Officer inspected the applicant's application and checked the location of the applicant, decided the category of card, got photos and bio matric details of the family head / members, issue barcode ration card. Under the barcoded ration card scheme, card holders are required to visit the e-gram / cyber café based on their biometric details and obtain barcoded coupons of the bulk of the commodities required to suit their card category. Individual coupons are printed on all items available to card holders on a bar-shaped coupon sheet of A-8 size. And on those coupons the card holder's name, the card number, the name of the shopkeeper to receive the amount from the store, all the details such as the amount of commodities available for that month, the price, etc. are also displayed. The state government will pay the coupon for Rs. W / - has been fixed. The cardholder's copy is also printed on the middle of the coupon sheet. Whereas the barcoded coupon on both ends of the A / 9 size paper sheet is required to be cut, as per the requirement, the amount printed on the coupon is to be paid to the shopkeeper / kerosene agent / feria at a reasonable price. In addition to the barcode coded ration card, the quantity of essential commodities received during the month of that year has to be recorded as well. In the coming days, barcoded ration card holders are also under consideration to provide arrangements for the quantity of essential commodities available at any reasonable price shop.

By applying barcode ration card and bio matric based coupon, coupons obtained at reasonable prices as per the above mentioned shopkeeper or retailer or farrier of Kerosene will also be required to reserve visit to Ingram / Cybercafe before the end of the month.
