PMJDW was launched in August 2014. The scheme was started for four years. The scheme started to connect the general public with banks and to provide financial facilities such as insurance and pensions. The scheme was started as a financial national mission.
The Finance Minister said that to make the public sector more attractive, the government has increased the overdraft facility in these accounts from Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000.
