Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha in the Lok Sabha that the government has made this decision under the One Time Settlement.He said that due to the very little amount left, the reason behind the delay is to reduce the administrative burden. For this, the government has decided to waive the remaining tax amount in 21.54 lakh cases.The government will lose Rs 6.4 crore due to this decision, so that there will be no major impact on revenue loss, no need to provide any arrangement or provision for this matter will arise.With the completion of 21.54 lakh cases, the income tax department will have a more positive effect on the recovery of the outstanding amount and management.
