IPL 2017 AUCTION

IPL Auction 2017: Ben Stokes emerged as the most expensive player in the 2017 IPL Player Auction as a total of 66 players from the final list of 352 were sold at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bengaluru. Stokes was signed by Rising Pune Supergiants for Rs. 14.5 Crores which made their intentions clear about improving their last year’s performance where they managed to win just 5 of their 14 watches. Tymal Mills was the second most expensive player of this year’s auction as RCB was willing to pay Rs 12 Crores for a man who has played just 4 T20Is so far.

The other two star signings were of Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult who were signed for Rs. 5 Crores each. Afghanistan players Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan created a historic moment as they became the only Afghanistan players to bag IPL deals so far.

Rashid Khan would be on top of world after being picked by Mumbai Indians for Rs 4 Crores.

Among the Indian players, Karn Sharma emerged as the costliest buy and was picked by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 3.2 Crores. Young players like Krishnappa Gowtham (Rs 2 Crores), T Natarajan (Rs 3 Crores) and Aniket Choudhary (Rs 2 Crores) On the other hand, there was disappointment for experienced Indian fast bowlers Ishant Sharma, RP Singh and Irfan Pathan who went unsold.
