In a report released by the Communication Fraud Control Association in 2013, it has been said that Sim Box Fraud is one of the top five risks on the telecom-industry, which damages nearly $ 3 billion per year. According to a survey conducted by Anti-Fraud Specialist, Sim Box Fraud and Over the Top Hijackers are the two biggest risks.
Telephonic companies around the world do all the efforts made to protect themselves from such fraud. This same type of racquet was broken after a software engineer from South Delhi and his 9 colleagues were arrested. The racquet was exposed in Uttar Pradesh's Anti-Terrorist Squad and the reports of the Jammu and Kashmir army in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. This racquet exploded during the investigation of espionage calls made by army officers.
The mastermind of this racquet is Gulshan Sen, resident of Sikor village in Rajasthan. He was working as a technical head of an engineering coaching institute.Police seized total twenty-two SIM boxes, 140 pre-paid SIM-cards, 10 mobile, 28 data-cards and five laptops.
