The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sent notices to the Board of Control for Cricket in India
The National Green Tribune (NGT) Central Government, the Indian Cricket Board and others have asked for an answer because of the application of a ban on the tournament due to wastage of millions of liters of water daily during IPL matches. A bench headed by Justice Javed Rahim has sent notices to the State Associations of the 9 States, the Water Resources Ministry, the Cricket Board and the states in which the IPL is to be played. All have been told to respond within two weeks. More hearing on this matter is on 28th April.
Haider Ali, a young man from Alwar in Rajasthan, filed this petition demanding action against the heavy deterioration of water during the IPL. It says that 'some people, organizations or civilians are making heavy waste of water, on the other hand, people in various parts of the country are trying to water.'
